Carrera Heuer-01

Launched in 2015 by TAG Heuer, the Carrera Heuer-01 was a surprise for many with its new case design, modular construction and price positioning: a column-wheel chronograph with manufacture movement and openworked dial at under Swiss Francs 5,000.

Initially introduced with a 45 mm-diameter case emphasizing its sporty DNA, the Carrera Heuer-01 is now presented in a new size with a slightly reduced diameter of 43 mm and in a choice of three versions: intense black, deep navy blue and an elegant cognac brown.

The brilliance of the polished ceramic tachymeter bezel echoes the polished, satin-finished steel of the 12-part modular case which offers water resistance to 100 metres / 330 feet.

The skeleton dial and the sapphire case-back reveal the mechanisms of the 4 Hz (28,800 vph) Calibre Heuer-01 manufacture movement which offers a power reserve of 50 hours.

In particular, the chronograph operating levers and the date disc are visible on the dial side. On the case-back, the eye is attracted by the red column wheel as well as too the skeleton chronograph bridge and circular black PVD oscillating weight.

 Carrera Heuer-01 movement

All of the movement’s Chrono functions are identified by the colour red, a colour often associated to the world of motor racing: the central seconds, the 30-minute counter, the 12-hour counter and the Start/Stop push-button.

TAG Heuer is initially introducing six references in steel and ceramic that can be matched to straps or steel bracelet:
