For Maurice Lacroix, it’s the Masterpiece collection that is heralded as the set where all the good things are classified. At our last market, Stéphane Waser revealed the”free-hand” mechanisms of this Aikon Mercury when it surfaced last year.
It was a frivolous take on studying time, per se. While free hand motions automatically end up the watch, the main hour palms would swing round the primary axis, only bending arms at the right time display once the watch is held up to the wearer.
While you would easily narrow it down to loose hooks along with a gear-locked snail cam, the specialized development took the group three years to develop. “The Mercury is doing really well,” shared Stéphane, Managing Director of Maurice Lacroix. “The opinion is in the midst of its deliveries and the reception is the fact that it is really amazing; everybody really only likes playing with it.”
This year, the latest Masterpiece gears its focus towards a women’ piece. The Masterpiece Embrace exhibits the main hours and the day of this week, including a curious mechanism screen that spins off-centre. This distinct whimsical setup is a set of heart-shaped gears which make an entire cycle in 60 seconds.

“We asked ourselves how do you create a Masterpiece for women that matches the need with function It is not about creating a little piece , putting diamonds on mother-of-pearl and it is done,” says Stéphane. “The concept we desired for the Embrace addresses the 2 hearts. Along with also the calendar retrograde, being a severe complication, is currently something to have for everyday.” In 40mm, the case is a sizeable match for ladies’ wrist. Long gone are the times where dainty and feminine watches equate to small and simple ones. Created in two versions, the dials are created in white mother-of-pearl and aventurine, with fitting leather straps. Aikon Venturer The Aikon collection gets major additions with a skeleton chronograph, fresh sizes for its Automatic Date, the growth of the Venturer GMT, and also the introduction of a model in a brand new material. In a limited range of 500 bits, the Aikon Venturer Bronze is introduced in a new case that’s subject to a nice patina when the wearer knows how to take care of it well. A brown porcelain bezel frames the green dial and is paired with interchangeable straps among a brown calf leather or green rubber, via the EasyChange system.

It’s ironically refreshing to see a GMT watches version, only since it is perhaps long overdue. Using its blocky silhouette and fuss-free colour palette of black and steel, the Venturer GMT does the occupation.
“With the GMT hours around the bezel retains the dial open and legible. Together with the bright red GMT hand, it only takes one glance at your watch to easily read the hours. On the instance back, there is a map to indicate that the time zones.”
MASTERPIECE EMBRACE AIKON VENTURER ELIROS

“You will notice that green is very popular this season,” says Stéphane. “On the whole, the new Eliros watches are fresher, being a part of their entrance level collection.”
The contemporary appearance of this Eliros Date in 40mm is splashed with a shade of emerald, adding to the effect that a gradated, smoked dial with a sunlight brushed finish. It is a fashionable addition that is surrounded with the colour itself, and the dial is made legible with thin, gold-plated principal hands and indices.
One of the watch rotations which Stéphane very strategically maneuvered throughout our conversation, he pulled out this vibrant, shiny entity on the previous stop. “It sounds more commonplace that everybody is beginning to have a rainbow view,” he states. “So this really is ours.”
The watch is straightforward, glaringly vibrant, but the addition of the holographic overlay provides a fun emphasis. The watch is limited to 1,000 pieces.
