TAG Heuer unveiled the Carrera Heuer-01 Full Black Matt Ceramic, its very first men’s chronograph made entirely from ceramic, including the bracelet.

In the latest iteration of the model, the case, bezel, lugs and case middle are made from black ceramic, a material offering exceptional scratch-resistance. Incredibly hard but soft to the touch, ceramic also maintains its original colour over time and does not oxidise. Moreover, it is hypoallergenic and lighter than steel.

Introduced at Baselwordl 2015, the Carrera Heuer-01 became the cornerstone of an entire new collection characterised by a bold new design, a new in-house calibre, and a new modular case design with 12 different elements enabling multiple combinations of materials and colours.

The Baume & Mercier Clifton Complete Calendar Chronograph Watch

Published by:

The story in a second

Baume & Mercier’s Clifton always had a pretty face. Well, that face just got complicated.

It’s hardly a secret. We like the Clifton at Time+Tide. It’s a well-balanced collection that walks a fine line between dressy and casual, retro and modern, all while being very well priced. Typically, though, these Baume & Mercier watches tend towards the simpler complications – calendar or moonphase or date – that sort of thing. Today we’re looking at a Clifton that loads all these complications into one watch. In theory it sounds good – more bang for buck, right? But in reality does all this added functionality detract from the simple allure of the Clifton? There’s only one way for us to find out.

The Blancpain Fifty Fathoms Bathyscaphe in grey plasma ceramic

The original Fifty Fathoms wristwatch was one of those watches that helped to define the original, mid-20th century idiom of the modern dive watch: stainless steel case, timing bezel, simplicity in design with every other consideration subordinated to practicality (which is what you generally should do when you make something someone’s life might depend on). It’s common nowadays to say that the mechanical diver’s watch is obsolete, and unlike many commonly held views this one is actually partly true; the primary wrist instrument for marine exploration is the digital dive computer. However, depending on which diver you ask, an analog dive watch is a great backup, with mechanical movements often preferred for their non-reliance on a battery.

Introducing The Jaeger-LeCoultre Duomètre Watches With Magnetite Grey Dials Watch

Jaeger-LeCoultre Duomètre Watches

Having been launched in 2007, the Jaeger-LeCoultre Duomètre is roughly as new a concept as the iPhone. Over the past decade, JLC has developed the Duomètre into a successful platform for showcasing their creativity and mechanical prowess within the confines of a generally traditional, classically minded, and complicated wristwatch. As the next step in their evolution, JLC has made the small but very noticeable change of fitting a dark grey magnetite dial. Available on three classic Jaeger-LeCoultre Duomètre models in pink gold, the dark dial is a small change with a considerable effect.

Zenith unveiled two new interpretations of the El Primero automatic chronograph where an imposing 45 mm-diameter case crafted from black ceramic frames an openworked dial which showcases the complexities of the fast-paced 5 Hz (36,000 vph) movement.

The three-dimensional effect of the dial is reinforced by the ruthenium-blackened, faceted hands sweeping over matching hour-markers, all treated with Super-LumiNova. Red accents enhance the sporty traits of these timepieces.
